StudiesTimer Is on iPhone and iPad: What to Try First

StudiesTimer Team·October 11, 2026·4 min read

StudiesTimer is now available on the App Store for iPhone and iPad. You can use the mobile app for a focused session away from your computer, keep track of your subjects, and study alongside friends. The download is free, with optional in-app purchases for Premium features.

If you already use StudiesTimer on the web, start by signing in to your existing account. The app and website share account-based study progress. You do not need to create a second account just because you are changing devices. Android availability is separate; check the mobile app page for the current Google Play status.

Choose the timer that matches the task

The app includes Pomodoro, countdown and stopwatch timers. Choose Pomodoro when you want a repeated work-and-break rhythm, a countdown when a task has a defined time budget, or a stopwatch when you need to measure how long the work actually takes.

Start with one concrete result. For example, “attempt six chemistry questions and identify the two I cannot explain” gives you something to review. “Study chemistry” leaves the next action undecided. The timer supplies a boundary; the task supplies the purpose. You can read our Pomodoro guide before choosing an interval.

See a running session without reopening the app

StudiesTimer supports a Lock Screen Live Activity and the Dynamic Island on compatible iPhones. These let you glance at a running timer without repeatedly navigating back to the app. Home Screen widgets provide another way to keep your study progress visible. Dynamic Island availability depends on your iPhone model.

Try the setup during a short practice session first. Start a countdown, lock the phone, and check how the running session appears on your device. Use the app and iOS notification settings to choose the interruption level that fits your study environment. A visible timer does not itself prevent you from opening distracting apps.

Bring your web account with you

Sign in using the same StudiesTimer account you use on your computer, then check your study progress and groups before starting. Keep subject names consistent across devices so that your time records are easier to interpret later. Begin with broad labels such as Biology, Mathematics and Writing rather than making a new label for every worksheet.

The public browser study log is a separate tool that stores entries locally in that browser. Its entries do not automatically become account sessions in the mobile app. If you used that tool, keep its records available for your own review and begin account tracking deliberately in the app.

Study with friends without turning the session into a feed

The mobile app includes friends, study groups, a global leaderboard and live study sessions. Use those features to agree on a start time or a shared study block. Before beginning, say what you intend to finish; after the block, report what happened. That makes the social part support the work.

Compare progress in a way that fits your workload. Hours recorded are not a measure of understanding, and another student's total does not tell you how difficult their material was. Pair time with evidence such as problems attempted, mistakes corrected or a draft completed. Our study-with-me guide gives an example of a simple accountability routine.

Your first session: a small setup checklist

  1. Download StudiesTimer from the official App Store listing and check its device requirements.
  2. Sign in to your existing account, or create an account if you are starting fresh.
  3. Select one subject and write down the result you want from this block.
  4. Choose a timer mode and duration, then begin the work.
  5. At the end, check what you finished and leave a next-action note before taking a break.

Free download and optional Premium

You can download the app for free. Premium expands features such as history and analysis, labels and goals, group creation, study buddies, exports and the ad-free experience. Review the offer shown in the app before subscribing; pricing and available offers can vary by region and platform. The pricing page explains the web plans.

Begin with a real session before deciding what you need. A longer history is useful when you regularly review it, and additional labels help when you have a clear reason to separate more subjects. The next step is simply to get StudiesTimer for iPhone or iPad and try one block. For a complete phone setup, follow our iPhone study timer workflow.
